I started this journey with a few little outfits for my girls. Going a little further down the road, my sister-in-law got me into crafting and craft venues. Then, I had gotten a homemade quilt from my Grandma and decided to make her one for Christmas. I bought the books, cutting tools, batting, and a sheet for the backing. It turned out beautiful. I got it back a few years ago, after my Grandma passed away. It was a red yarn tied quilt and a few of the ties had pulled through the backing. I reinforced all of them and am using it now on a guest bed. That was the 1990's and it is still in mint shape today. I haven't used a sheet since but I don't think I'd worry too much if I ever did. I only did traditional quilts for a long time. Learning applique gave me the ability to be more creative with my own drawings. The turning point of my journey was when a girlfriend told me about this site called Pinterest. I was hooked and on there for DAYS. I looked up quilts for ideas and collage quilts popped up, so did Susan Carlson. As I researched her, Nancy Prince came up, Wow! Then Sophie Standing...OMG...I had to try. I studied all of their work and began to experiment. I still am. I have developed my own style and way of doing things, mostly by trial and error. Some things work, some things are just okay.  I have mosiac pieces, collage pieces, thread painted pieces, and have tried different ways to do each. If you are an artist or are on the road to becoming one, I would tell you to never stop experimenting. I thank you for coming to my website and I hope you see a piece that you can't stop looking at, then I have made an impact on you and am grateful
